Individual Headshots · Austin

An Austin headshot photographer for professionals who need the photo to work.

Your headshot shows up before you do, on LinkedIn, a firm bio, a conference badge, a press feature. This is a coached Austin studio session built to give you one image you are glad to use in all of them. Studio or on-location, directed start to finish, retouched files in two to three business days.

Why Headshots Miss

Most headshots fail for reasons that are fixable.

Walk into most sessions and the unspoken assumption is that looking good on camera is your job. It is not. The reasons headshots come out stiff, dated, or not quite you are predictable, and every one of them is the photographer's to solve. The session is built to handle them before they happen, not to hope they do not.

01

You do not have to know how to pose.

Most people freeze the moment a camera comes up. Direction arrives one cue at a time, on posture, angle, and where to look, so a frame works even if you have never liked a photo of yourself.

02

Your expression is coached, not guessed.

The gap between a stiff photo and a credible one is usually the face, not the lighting. Small adjustments happen live, in real time, until it reads the way you want it to.

03

It still looks like you.

If a past set came back over-processed or like a different person, that is editing, not retouching. Distractions get cleaned up while you stay recognizable. No AI plastic, no swapped-out face.

04

No all-day production.

Book a time, arrive, get directed, choose your shots, leave. Most professionals are in and out inside the session window with the result already settled.

05

You see it before you leave.

Images come up on screen during the session. You approve your selects in the room, so nothing about the final files is a surprise two business days later.

For Professionals

What makes a headshot photographer worth booking?

01 · Coaching

Determines whether the photos are usable. Most photographers point a camera and hope. A coached session directs posing, expression, and angle on every frame so every shot is usable.

02 · Specialization

Determines whether the photographer understands what working professionals need. A wedding photographer can technically shoot a headshot. A headshot specialist understands what reads as credible on a firm website, in a press feature, on a board profile, and on LinkedIn.

03 · Track Record

Determines whether you are trusting a portfolio or a pattern. Any photographer can show a handful of strong frames. ATX Headshots is booked repeatedly by Austin professionals and firms who need the result right the first time, and the reviews and returning corporate clients reflect a standard that holds session after session.

Frequently Asked

Questions before you book.

The things professionals actually want settled before they reserve. The full prep guide arrives with your booking confirmation.

I take a bad photo. Will this be different?

That is the most common thing people say walking in, and it is the photographer's problem to solve, not yours. The session is directed the whole way: posture, angle, and expression are coached one cue at a time, and the images come up on screen so you can see it working.

You do not leave with a photo you settled for. You approve your selects in the room before you go.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions start at $225 for a thirty-minute LinkedIn Headshot, $325 for a one-hour Professional session, and $525 for a two-hour Executive Portrait. Retouching is priced separately at $125 per image, flat. Most clients spend $325 to $575 in total.

Every price is published on this page, so there is nothing to ask for and nothing revealed late.

What if my last headshots came back looking over-edited?

That is usually heavy-handed editing, not retouching. Here the retouching is natural: blemishes, stray hairs, glare, and distractions are cleaned up while you stay recognizable. No skin-smoothing into plastic, no AI sheen, no version of you that you would not put your name to.

Can you come to our office instead?

Yes. On-location sessions are available across the Austin metro for executives and teams who would rather have the photographer come to their office or venue. The studio is the default for individuals; on-location is common for leadership and group work. Mention it at booking and the setup is handled.

Do I really need to dress up?

Wear what you would wear for the setting the photo is for. Solid colors hold up better than busy patterns, and fit matters more than how formal it is. A blazer over a different shirt counts as a second look. The prep email covers the rest, and anything else gets handled in person.

Can you match a set of headshots we already have?

Yes. Send a sample at booking and the background, lighting, and crop are matched so the new images sit alongside what you have. Common for firms keeping leadership headshots consistent as people join.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Plans move. Reschedule with reasonable notice and the booking moves with you. If something comes up last minute, call the studio at (512) 790-8298 and it gets worked out.

Where is the studio?

600 S. Bell Blvd, Suite 7, twenty minutes north of downtown Austin, with free parking on-site and no shared lobby. Easy to reach from Leander, Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Lakeway, and Westlake. Sessions are by appointment only.

01

A dedicated Austin headshot photographer.

ATX Headshots is the working studio of Ryan Dunbar, a headshot photographer serving Austin and the surrounding metro. Twenty-one years behind the camera, eleven of them specializing in headshots.

Every individual session is photographed by Ryan personally. No associates, no apprentices, no junior shooter handed the booking. The person in the reviews is the person in the room.

02

Studio and on-location across the metro.

Studio sessions run six days a week by appointment at 600 S. Bell Blvd, Suite 7, twenty minutes north of downtown Austin. Free parking on-site, no shared lobby.

On-location sessions are available across the Austin metro for executives and teams who need the photographer at their office or venue. Reserve online with immediate confirmation, choose your images during the session, and receive retouched files in two to three business days.

03

Specialties and use cases.

Roles read differently on camera, and the session is coached to match how the photos will be used. Professionals updating how they show up to recruiters and clients book the thirty-minute LinkedIn or the one-hour Professional session.

For role-specific detail, see the pages on LinkedIn headshots, attorney headshots, and realtor headshots.

04

The work, done right.

Pricing is published on the page, so you know what you are paying for before you book. Ryan photographs every individual session. Images are reviewed on screen during the session, so you leave knowing what you are getting.

Retouched files arrive in two to three business days, finished naturally. No AI plastic, no over-processed sheen, no different person in the mirror.
