Austin actor headshots that get you in the room.
Casting directors decide in seconds. A coached studio session, directed shot by shot with live image review, so you leave with headshots that look like you and work for your casting type.
Who this is for
For actors and models who need to book work.
A casting director scrolls hundreds of thumbnails per role. Your headshot has one job: stop the scroll and get you the audition. Every session is shot for the surfaces that actually cast you — Actors Access, Casting Networks, agency submissions, and your reel.
Actors auditioning for film, TV, theater, and commercial.Theatrical and commercial looks are different photographs. Multi-look sessions cover both, so you submit the right image for the right room.
Models building or refreshing a portfolio.Clean, well-lit headshots and ¾ options that agencies can actually use, shot to current industry standards.
Performers updating their casting type.New look, new age range, new representation. If your headshot no longer looks like the person who walks in the room, it's costing you callbacks.
First-timers building their first portfolio. No posing experience needed. Every shot is coached — expression, angle, energy — and reviewed live so you learn what works as we shoot.

- Specializes in actors and performers who need to stand out in a stack of submissions.
- Directs every frame — posing, expression, and energy coached in real time for natural emotion, not frozen smiles.
- Studio lighting precision in a calm, confidence-building environment.
- Editorial and advertising background that shows up as cinematic, character-driven portraits.
- Works with every level — first portfolio to seasoned professionals refreshing their look.

How A Session Runs
Three steps from booking to casting-ready files.
You get instant confirmation and a prep guide the moment you book — wardrobe, grooming, and how to walk in feeling ready.
A prep guide before, a plan on arrival.
Your confirmation includes a practical prep guide. At the Cedar Park studio we talk through your casting type and the looks you need — theatrical, commercial, or both — before a single frame is shot.
Every frame directed, reviewed live.
Expression, angle, energy — coached shot by shot. You watch the images come up on a tethered monitor as we work, so we refine your strongest looks together instead of guessing.
Same-day selects, fast turnaround.
Pick your favorites before you leave, with guidance on which images fit which submissions. You only purchase the retouched images you want — retouched naturally, to industry standard.
What Makes A Strong Actor Headshot
Six things casting directors actually look for.
An actor headshot is a working document, not a glamour shot. It has to look like you, read at thumbnail size, and tell the casting director what roles you can play.
It looks like you.
The fastest way to lose a callback is walking into the room looking different from your photo. Natural retouching only — blemishes and stray hairs, never your face shape, skin texture, or age.
The eyes carry it.
At thumbnail size on a casting platform, your eyes are the whole photo. Lighting and focus are built around them — alive, connected, and in sharp focus every single frame.
It reads your type instantly.
Lead, best friend, villain, authority figure. Wardrobe, expression, and lighting are chosen for the roles you actually get called in for — not a generic "nice photo."
Theatrical and commercial are different shots.
Theatrical wants depth and stillness. Commercial wants warmth and approachability. A multi-look session gives you both so you never submit the wrong energy.
Backgrounds stay out of the way.
Clean, softly graded backgrounds with real separation. The frame is about your face and your read — never the wall behind you.
Framed for casting platforms.
Composed and delivered to work on Actors Access, Casting Networks, and agency submissions — correct crops, correct sizes, ready to upload.
Frequently Asked
Everything actors ask before booking.
How much do actor headshots cost in Austin?
Sessions are $225 for The Essential (30 minutes), $325 for The Signature Actor (up to 1 hour), and $525 for The Branding Portfolio (2 hours) — with $100 off every session already applied at booking. Retouched images are purchased separately after your session: $125 per image, with volume pricing at 5 for $475, 10 for $850, and 15 for $1,125.
Which session should I book?
If you need one strong, current headshot for submissions, book The Essential. If you audition across types — theatrical and commercial — book The Signature Actor, our most-booked session, which covers multiple looks. If you're building a complete package for agents and press with ¾ and full-length options, book The Branding Portfolio.
What's the difference between theatrical and commercial headshots?
Theatrical headshots read deeper and stiller — for film, TV, and theater roles. Commercial headshots read warm and approachable — for ads and brand work. They're different photographs, and multi-look sessions are structured to capture both so you always submit the right energy for the room.
What should I wear?
Solid colors in mid-tones that flatter your skin and don't fight your eyes. Avoid logos, busy patterns, and pure white. Bring layers that match your casting types — a wardrobe prep guide is sent automatically when you book, and we finalize looks together at the start of the session.
How does retouching work? Will it still look like me?
Yes — that's the point. Actor retouching is natural and industry-standard: stray hairs, temporary blemishes, minor cleanup. We never change your face shape, skin texture, or age, because casting directors need the person in the photo to be the person who walks in.
How fast will I get my images?
You select your favorites during the session on a tethered monitor, and retouched finals are delivered within 2-3 business days. Rush delivery is available for submission deadlines — call the studio at (512) 790-8298.
Will the files work for Actors Access and Casting Networks?
Yes. Files are delivered sized and cropped for the major casting platforms and agency submissions, plus high-resolution versions for print and press. If your agent has specific requirements, tell us at booking and delivery will match.
Do you photograph models too?
Yes. The same sessions cover model headshots and portfolio work — clean beauty-style headshots, ¾, and full-length options in The Branding Portfolio. Agencies get usable, current images shot to industry standards.
Can parents book sessions for young actors?
Yes. A parent or guardian books the session and stays in the studio throughout. Sessions with young performers are paced to keep it fun and natural — relaxed kids photograph better, and casting directors can tell.
Where is the studio?
The ATX Headshots studio is at 600 S. Bell Blvd, Suite 7, Cedar Park, TX 78613 — about 25 minutes from downtown Austin, easy access from 183 and 1431, with free parking directly in front. By appointment only.
What's your rescheduling policy?
Sessions can be rescheduled up to 48 hours before your appointment at no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the booking deposit. Genuine emergencies happen — call the studio at (512) 790-8298 and we'll work with you.
