Most people are surprised by how good they look.
The reason usually is not the camera or the lighting. It is direction. Most people have never been guided through posture, angle, and expression, so they have never seen themselves photographed well. Every reason a headshot comes out stiff, dated, or not quite you is the photographer's to solve, and the session is built to handle them before they happen.
You do not have to know how to pose.
Most people freeze the moment a camera comes up. Direction arrives one cue at a time, on posture, angle, and where to look, so a frame works even if you have never liked a photo of yourself.
Your expression is coached, not guessed.
The gap between a stiff photo and a credible one is usually the face, not the lighting. Small adjustments happen live, in real time, until it reads the way you want it to.
It still looks like you.
If a past set came back over-processed or like a different person, that is editing, not retouching. Distractions get cleaned up while you stay recognizable. No AI plastic, no swapped-out face.
No all-day production.
Book a time, arrive, get directed, choose your shots, leave. Most professionals are in and out inside the session window with the result already settled.
You see it before you leave.
Images come up on screen during the session. You approve your selects in the room, so nothing about the final files is a surprise two business days later.
What makes a headshot photographer worth booking?
Decides whether the photos are usable. Most photographers point a camera and hope. A coached session directs posing, expression, and angle on every frame, so you are not relied on to know what to do.
Decides whether the photographer understands what you actually need. A wedding photographer can technically shoot a headshot. A headshot specialist knows what reads as credible on a firm website, in a press feature, on a board profile, and on LinkedIn.
Decides whether you are trusting a portfolio or a pattern. Any photographer can show a handful of strong frames. The signal that matters is the same result every time, which is why professionals and firms here book again and send their teams.
Shot for the job the photo has to do.
A partner's bio, a founder's press photo, and an agent's profile each have to do a different job. The session is directed to the use, never run from a template.
Executives and founders
The photo runs on the firm site, in press, and in board materials. It is directed to read current and credible, the way leadership is expected to look.
Attorneys
A bio shot clients judge in seconds. Coached to land approachable and precise at once, so it earns trust before a word is read.
Realtors and agents
Your face is the brand, on signs, profiles, and listings. Shot to be recognizable and approachable, and built to be used everywhere.
Corporate teams
Headshots that match across the team, even as people join. Lighting, background, and crop are matched so the wall stays consistent session after session.

Our Promise
You see every shot on the studio monitor as we work. Posture, angle, and expression get adjusted in real time and you pick your final images before you leave, so you never leave with a photo you settled for.
You are guided the whole way.
I'm Ryan Dunbar, and I direct every session myself. That matters for one reason: you are never left to figure out posing on your own. Most people walk in unsure what to do with their hands, their chin, or their expression, and handling that is exactly my job.
I direct you one cue at a time, and you watch the shots come up on screen as we work. You do not need any experience in front of a camera. Because the same person runs every session, the result is consistent, which is what the reviews keep describing, and you choose your favorites before you leave.
Book, attend, done.
Pick a time, attend the session, get your files. Three stages from booking to delivered images.
Pick your time.
Choose your session and book a time that works on the calendar. You get an instant confirmation and a short prep email with what to wear and what to bring.
Arrive and shoot.
Show up at your booked time. You are directed through the session and watch the images come up on screen, then choose your favorites before you walk out. Most professionals are in and out within the session window.
Files in two to three days.
The images you selected are retouched naturally, color-corrected, and delivered web and print-ready to your inbox in two to three business days. On a tight deadline, flag it at booking and the timeline gets adjusted.
Not all headshots are finished the same way.
Many photographers deliver "edited" images. Color corrected, exposure adjusted, exported. That is not retouching. It is a base-level process that leaves blemishes, stray hairs, lint, and other distractions exactly where they are.
Every image we deliver is fully retouched, not just color-corrected and exported.
Blemish removal, minor stray hair removal, glasses glare reduction, teeth whitening, natural wrinkle reduction, lint removal, and clothing adjustments on every image you select.
Real clients. Real reviews.
Five-star reviewed on Google. Most people booking a headshot have not been in front of a camera in years. That is the normal case here, not the exception.

Questions before you book.
The things professionals actually want settled before they reserve. The full prep guide arrives with your booking confirmation.
I take a bad photo. Will this be different?
That is the most common thing people say walking in, and it is the photographer's problem to solve, not yours. The session is directed the whole way: posture, angle, and expression are coached one cue at a time, and the images come up on screen so you can see it working.
You do not leave with a photo you settled for. You approve your selects in the room before you go.
How much does a session cost?
The Express Headshot Session is $225 for a twenty-minute session, the Professional session is $325 for up to an hour, and the Executive Portrait is $525 for two hours. Retouching is priced separately at $125 per image, flat.
Every price is published on this page, so there is nothing to ask for and nothing revealed late.
What if my last headshots came back looking over-edited?
That is usually heavy-handed editing, not retouching. Here the retouching is natural: blemishes, stray hairs, glare, and distractions are cleaned up while you stay recognizable. No skin-smoothing into plastic, no AI sheen, no version of you that you would not put your name to.
Can you come to our office instead?
Yes. On-location sessions are available across the Austin metro for executives and teams who would rather have the photographer come to their office or venue. The studio is the default for individuals; on-location is common for leadership and group work. Mention it when you book and the setup is handled.
Do I really need to dress up?
Wear what you would wear for the setting the photo is for. Solid colors hold up better than busy patterns, and fit matters more than how formal it is. A blazer over a different shirt counts as a second look. The prep email covers the rest, and anything else gets handled in person.
Can you match a set of headshots we already have?
Yes. Send a sample when you book and the background, lighting, and crop are matched so the new images sit alongside what you have. Common for firms keeping leadership headshots consistent as people join.
What is your rescheduling policy?
Plans move. Reschedule with reasonable notice and the booking moves with you. If something comes up last minute, call the studio at (512) 790-8298 and it gets worked out.
Where is the studio?
The studio is in the Austin metro, with free parking on-site and no shared lobby. The full address is sent when your session is confirmed. Sessions are by appointment only, and on-location sessions are available across Austin for teams and executives.
